Tea Bag Cleaning Hack

Ah, the glorious summer! A time for barbecues, ice cream trucks, and summer vacations. A time when the skies are blue, and the sun is shining…really shining…it’s hot and this brutal heat can leave everyone smelling less than fresh! That early morning shower and dab of deodorant are all but remnants by noon when the heat of the day is just starting.
The biggest casualty of the afternoon sun can be found right beneath your feet! Our shoes can become a breeding ground for microorganisms with that warmer temperature, and stinky shoes can lead to unnecessary embarrassment. Imagine being invited to dinner after a long hot day in the sun and then having to take your shoes off at the door. As the stench infiltrates the nostrils of your hosts making you their, less than favorite house guest. Leaving you with an everlasting anxiety of every taking them off again!
Well, clear your mind my friend the Queen of Clean herself Lynsey Crombie is here to save your shoes with a simple life hack that she describes as an “oldie but a goodie”. Lynsey says, “There is nothing worse than smelly shoes” and “Pop a few tea bags inside your smelly shoes to fight off bad odors that are caused by heat and bacteria.”

She also suggests that the longer you leave these tea bags in your shoes the better, and any old tea bag will work, even those minty herbal ones. The reason using tea bags works is because they are incredibly absorbent and draw all the moisture from their neighboring areas. Lynsey also says, “To save waste, make sure you reuse the ones from your shoes for other household tasks.”
